Why use intermaxillary elastic bands?
So why should you use intermaxillary elastic bands? During the orthodontic process, the dentist will use a system of brackets and archwires to create force. Orthodontic elastic bands will be used along with the orthodontic process to create additional combined force.
Over time, this entire system of appliances will help you move your teeth to the desired position as well as help your teeth to be quickly aligned. Thus, it can be seen that orthodontic elastic bands will help your teeth move quickly, in addition to helping you align the position of your upper and lower jaw teeth to better match your bite.
This orthodontic elastic band will be connected to the corresponding bracket system right between the two teeth of the upper and lower jaws. In addition to helping align the bite, this braces elastic band also helps you pull crooked teeth or teeth that grow crookedly above the jawbone or teeth that are not on the correct dental arch line to the correct position and posture as you wish.
