Cookies:

- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 3½ cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tsp. baking powder
Icing:
- 2 cups sifted confectioners’ (powdered) sugar
- 2 tsp. vanilla extract
- 6 tsp. water (which is 2 tablespoons, as there are 3 teaspoons per tablespoon)
