Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Using a sharp knife, make diagonal cuts about 1 inch apart across the top of the loaf of bread, being careful not to cut all the way through. Then, make another set of diagonal cuts perpendicular to the first set, creating a grid-like pattern. This will allow you to stuff the bread.
- Carefully stuff the cuts in the bread with shredded mozzarella cheese and sliced pepperoni. Be generous with the filling, making sure to get it into every nook and cranny.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, grated Parmesan cheese, dried Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Using a pastry brush or a spoon, generously brush the butter mixture over the top and into the cuts of the bread.
- Wrap the bread in aluminum foil, leaving the top open to allow the bread to get crispy.
- Place the foil-wrapped bread on a baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the bread is crispy.
- If you like, you can open the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes to make the top of the bread even crispier.
- Once it’s done, remove the bread from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
