Recipe Directions
Step 1: Prepare the Pasta
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Cook the lasagna noodles according to the package instructions until al dente.
- Drain the noodles and set aside.
Step 2: Make the Meat Sauce
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add diced onion and minced garlic, and sauté until softened.
- Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Simmer the sauce for 10-15 minutes, then remove from heat.
Step 3: Prepare the Cheese Filling
- In a mixing bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, grated Parmesan cheese, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper.
- Mix until well combined.
Step 4: Assemble the Lasagna
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Place three lasagna noodles on top of the sauce.
- Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles.
- Sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce on top.
- Sprinkle with remaining shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before serving.
- Garnish with fresh basil leaves, if desired.

How to Store Leftovers
If you have any leftovers (which is rare with this delicious dish!), simply store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply place individual portions in the microwave or oven until heated through.
