Instructions:
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for about 5 minutes.
- While the air fryer is preheating, let the filet mignon come to room temperature. This helps the steak cook more evenly.
- Season the steak generously with salt and pepper. You can also add some fresh herbs like thyme or rosemary for extra flavor.
- Lightly coat the steak with a small amount of olive oil. This helps with browning and prevents it from sticking to the air fryer basket.
- Place the steak in the air fryer basket. Make sure there is enough space around it for air to circulate.
- Cook the filet mignon in the air fryer at 400°F (200°C) for about 10-15 minutes. Cooking time will vary depending on the thickness of the steak and your desired level of doneness. Here are some rough guidelines:
- Rare: 10 minutes
- Medium-rare: 12 minutes
- Medium: 14 minutes
- Medium-well: 16 minutes
- While the steak is cooking, melt the butter in a small saucepan or in the microwave. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and let it infuse for a few minutes.
- When the steak is done, remove it from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes. Resting allows the juices to redistribute, making the steak more tender and flavorful.
- Drizzle the garlic butter over the cooked filet mignon just before serving. You can also serve it on the side as a dipping sauce.
- Enjoy your air-fried filet mignon with garlic butter!
