Instructions:
Burger Patties:
- Preheat your grill or stovetop griddle over medium-high heat.
- Divide the ground beef into four equal portions and shape them into burger patties.
- Season each patty with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- Grill the burger patties to your preferred level of doneness, usually about 4-5 minutes per side for medium.
Philly Cheesesteak Topping:
- In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
- Add sliced onions, bell peppers, and mushrooms to the skillet.
- Sauté the vegetables until they are softened and slightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes.
- Season the vegetables with salt and black pepper.
- Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and place the slices of cheese on top of the veggies to melt.
Assembly:
- Place each grilled burger patty on the bottom half of a toasted bun.
- Spoon the melted cheese and sautéed vegetables over the top of each burger patty.
- Optionally, spread mayonnaise and ketchup on the top half of the toasted buns.
- Add lettuce and tomato slices on top of the cheese and vegetables.
- Place the top half of the bun over the veggies to complete the burger.
