Instructions:

  1. Preparation:

  2. Prepare the topping:

    • Add the brown sugar and stir until it’s completely dissolved and combined with the butter.
    • Pour this mixture into the bottom of the prepared cake pan.
    • Arrange the pecan halves on top of the butter and sugar mixture in a decorative pattern.
  3. Make the cake batter:
    • In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
    • In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
    • Beat in the eggs, one at a time, then add the vanilla extract.
    • Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
