Remove the Membrane: Start by removing the membrane from the back of the ribs. This is a tough layer that can prevent flavors from penetrating the meat and can result in a less tender cooked rib. Slide a knife under the membrane at one end of the rack, lift, and then use a paper towel to grab it and pull it off.
Cut the Ribs: If your air fryer is small, you may need to cut the rack in half or into individual ribs to fit.
2. Season the Ribs:
In a small bowl, mix together the lemon pepper seasoning, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
Rub the ribs all over with olive oil, then evenly coat them with the seasoning mix. Make sure to rub the seasoning in well on both sides.
Zest the lemon and mix the zest into the ribs. Then, squeeze half of the lemon’s juice over the ribs. Save the other half for serving.
3. Air Fry:
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) if your model requires preheating.
Place the ribs in the air fryer basket. Depending on the size of your air fryer, you may need to cook them in batches.
Cook for about 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through the cooking time. The exact time will depend on your air fryer and how thick the ribs are. You’re aiming for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) when checked with a meat thermometer.
